Join the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) & I·SPARC for the Food Is Medicine series. March is National Nutrition Month, and the FNHA holds an annual “Food is Medicine” wellness campaign. In March of 2025 they continued to build off the great work that communities have done and continue to do regarding food sovereignty. In March of 2025, they hosted virtual webinars featuring 3 innovative food security and food sovereignty initiatives led by Indigenous food leaders from across BC. This video features two speakers, Manda Hunt-Pyle, who discusses the Kwakiutl community garden through the years, as well as what it looks like to grow in an unheated greenhouse on the coast. The second speaker, Janet Romain, speaks to Stellat’en’s Journey towards food sovereignty.
