Haida Gwaii, Nuxalk grow more food secure

Haida Gwaii and the Nuxalk Nation will benefit from $58,000 each in provincial funding to enhance local food-security projects through equipment upgrades, educational programs, and community capacity building. This funding, part of a broader initiative by the Victoria Foundation’s Food Security – Provincial Initiatives Fund, aims to support Indigenous-led food sovereignty and improve access to nutritious food in areas with high costs and limited availability, while fostering intergenerational and Nation-to-Nation knowledge sharing.
