Vancouver Island Traditional Foods Conference 2015

The 8th annual Vancouver Island Traditional Foods Conference was hosted by the Kwakiutl First Nation located at T̓sax̱is – Fort Rupert and, Dła̱ksiwe’ – Cluxewe Campground/Resort.

The first day was filled with conferences about seaweed, fishing rights, food security programs and much more. The food that was served was amazing and right from the territory. Many connections were made in the big house where the opening ceremony was held.

The second day was filled with hands on learning – the pit cook, how to skin a deer, digging for camas plants and much more.
