The primary purpose of this book is to describe and to reference the published literature on the nutritional properties, the botanical characteristics and the ethnic uses of traditional food plants of Canadian Indigenous Peoples. This reference guide is intended for a variety of users: Indigenous People, nutritionists, and other health care professionals working with Indigenous People or with other rural people, biologists, ethnologists, the variety of organizations serving Indigenous People, wildlife enthusiasts, and the academic audience in a variety of disciplines. It is written with academic-style referencing, using language that is intended to be easily understood by a variety of readers.
