The Nutritional Habits of Métis Children and Youth in Canada

This fact sheet utilizes findings from the 2006 Aboriginal Peoples Survey (APS) to examine the nutritional habits of Métis children and youth between the ages of 6 and 14. Although health depends upon the intersections of various economic, social and environmental factors, the importance of nutrition and a blanced diet have long been recognized as key factors in improving overall health, and in reducing and preventing chronic diseases.
