Indigenous Food Sovereignty and Food Security in a Changing Climate

The Provincial government is developing a province-wide food security framework to respond to food security challenges in BC. This framework seeks to uphold Indigenous food systems and food sovereignty and will consider how to respond to the imminent consequences of climate change. It is also meant to support groups who are at a higher risk of food insecurity and respond to their needs with agility to meet people where they are at. This provincial engagement report summarizes Indigenous food-sovereignty priorities and climate impacts.
